Today, we're delighted to introduce you to Kariann of The Cake Dame. She's an amazingly talented cake designer who is as sweet as the cakes she bakes! Kariann has created all of the masterpieces you'll see below & she's just bursting with creativity to make anything you can dream up.Q: How did you get into the cake business? And how long have you been doing cakes?I was doing work release in high school at a local bakery (Parsons Bakery). I started as a cashier, then went to donut frying, and then started assisting on simple cakes. A co-worker asked me to help on a wedding cake. After we finished, I thought... I could do this. Took some classes and voila. I've been doing cakes for about 5 years.Q: What types of items/cakes do you offer?I mainly provide cakes, cake pops or cupcakes for any occasion. For a few orders I've agreed to do cookies but prefer to stick with "cake" for now. Maybe someday when the kids are bigger and I have more time I'll open up to other treats.Q: What is the most unique cake you've done so far?I've done so many different kinds of cake designs. A Jabba the Hut, a giant lipstick... I love the designs that clients come up with on their own to fit a specific person, couple or situation. It makes it so much more fun for me to create than just copying a picture.
