Italian Organic Modern Dream Kitchen

Last year I received the most exciting call… it was the talented Rob of RL Wyman Design + Create asking me to bring the Design Loves Detail style to their 2026 Parade Home! This collab with the prestige, precision & craftsmanship of RL Wyman was an easy “yes!” for me and I quickly blew up the group chat with visions of a modern organic Italian estate featuring a Mediterranean landscape you might find in the European countryside. The goal would be to blend the highest luxuries of modern living with the comforts and heart of timeless Italian architecture— a home that felt fresh/minimal yet grounded in charming details…. and I think we created just that!

I absolutely adore this kitchen and pantry!! And it takes a village to create something like this— especially in less than a year! The team at RL Wyman Design + Create is spectacular. Working alongside the awesome Denette Charlton, Trevor Allan & Rob Wyman has been such a blessing! Denette and I basically moved into this house the last few weeks to bring this vision to life— and we faced so many obstacles from light fixtures that arrived broken to unforseen shipping delays which forced us to pivot last minute; But we never gave up! One million design meetings, so many late nights, early mornings and just genuine blood, sweat and tears went into crafting this dream home and it’s such a delight to be able to share it with you today!

Major shout out to Aimee of Artistic Wall Textures for her incredible talents working with plaster (she did the plaster on the range hood for us and also hand-painted those outlet covers to seamlessly blend with the Le Blanc quartzite— a true artist!).

Also to Aspen Mills for the most gorgeous cabinetry and being willing to try new and unique ideas! Those oversized single glass panel doors for either side of the range hood with the thin metal frames are one of the coolest features and give such a custom feel. I love the curved edge detail we did in the butler’s pantry cabinets & the floating shelves above. Also that it’s like a two part pantry, with the middle prep space and then the beautiful food storage area at the front— the stone wall there gives an Italian wine cellar vibe that I think is so fantastic!

Which brings me to the fact that the stone was a very integral part of this home & kitchen— we were honored to work with Harristone to craft this new custom blend, MILAN RIDGESTONE, which offers the perfect authentic old world feel with incredible texture and warmth! We did an over-grouted style with Trinity White Mortar to achieve that “unearthed” look that you’d see on old Italian buildings.

The stone perfectly frames the stunning two story custom interior window by Soniq Windows & Doors. They can make seriously anything! Wait til you see the 15-foot custom entry door they did for this home!

And right in the heart of it all, is the stunning (first one in the world!) custom Fulgor-Milano range. Rob was able to travel to Italy to see where these top-of-the-line ranges are crafted— and they’re truly pieces of art with all the history and modern cooking precision you can fathom! We also got to select the color and details for this range and it’s jaw-dropping-ly beautiful!!

Last by not least, a big shout out to my dear friend & talented photographer, Kristina!! Her talents in capturing this beautiful space are a gift and I love working with her!
